Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
Beyond the glamour and mystique of stage hypnosis with its theatrics, swinging watches and examples of strong suggestive influence such as people being made to think they are chickens, there is another aspect.
The other side of the coin, if you like, is therapeutic hypnosis, or hypnotherapy as it is known.
Hypnosis is cloaked in mystery and blanketed with assumptions. So I am here writing to help inform you of a different aspect of hypnosis. I practice hypnosis on a daily basis and have seen the positive effects it can have on people. We practitioners use the same techniques as stage hypnotists but for different outcomes.
Hypnosis is a simple yet powerfully effective tool of suggestion and can be used on it’s own or in conjunction with other therapies. I specialise in Phobias, however, my skills are not limited to fear. Helping someone to overcome a fear is brilliant but likewise, seeing someone changing because they are now free of a habit is amazing.
People come to me for various reasons: lack of confidence; fear of public speaking; fear of spiders or snakes or even balloons. Some ask for help to rid themselves of irritants in their day to day lives. Someone might be afraid of heights or of clowns - both can be alleviated with suggestion.
Stress and anxiety are common issues in society today. Suggestion can alleviate and rid a person of these ailments by showing them how to think around them. Depression falls into that category and whilst hypnosis would not be the only form of therapy recommended it can work alongside psychotherapy or counselling to reinforce the messages being learned in those sessions.
My goal as a Hypnotherapist is simply this; I want to help others. I’m good at what I do and I believe in it. I am passionate about this and want to share it. It can seem miraculous to some and to others it will always be a stage act but the reality of it is that it does work for the majority of people.
I hope you found this helpful but of course, if you have any questions please get in touch with me.
